1966-1971 - Fujiko (Tamura) Gardner trains in Japan under Shihan Hiroshi Isoyama, (Currently Senior Consular, International Aikido Federation, the governing body for Aikido outside of Japan and Dojo Cho at the Aikikai Foundation Ibaraki Branch Dojo)

1972 - Sensei Gardner starts teaching Aikido at the Tacoma-Fife Dojo

1979 - Sensei Gardner semi-retires and her student Lonnie Grimm starts Aikido classes at the Tacoma Y (MorganBranch) under Sensei Bernie Lau

1980's - Sensei Grimm leads Tacoma Aiki Dojo

1992 - Sensei Grimm dies, Ted Wilson (A student of Sensei Gardner) appointed Head instructor under Sensei Gardner

1992 - Sensei Ted Wilson dies, Carl Spuck (A student of Sensei's Gardner, Grimm and Wilson) appointed Head Instructor under Sensei Gardner

1992 - Through Sensei Gardner's efforts the Tacoma Aiki Dojo offers classes through the Lakewood Y with Jim Peterson as Head Instructor

1994 - Tacoma News Tribune Article featuring Sensei Gardner and the Tacoma Aiki Dojo with classes at Lakewood & Morgan Y's

1998 - Head Instructor Carl Spuck semi-retires, Michael Bissonette (Student of Sensei's Gardner, Grimm, Wilson & Spuck) appointed Head Instructor, Tacoma Aiki Dojo

1998 - Kent Devine appointed Arbitrator (Ombudsman) of the Tacoma Aiki Dojo

1999 - Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan instructs his 1st seminar at the Tacoma Aiki Dojo

2000 - Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan instructs 2 seminars at the Tacoma Aiki Dojo

2000 - Gene Tucker moves to Redding CA and opens the Redding Aiki Dojo

2002 - Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan instructs his 4th seminar at the Tacoma Aiki Dojo

2002 - Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan authorizes Aikikai promotions for the Tacoma Aiki Dojo members under his direction

2003 - Tacoma Aiki Dojo classes at the Lakewood Y suspended until further notice

2003 - The tacomaaikidojo.org website is no longer sanctioned by or represents the Tacoma Aiki Dojo

2003 - This website, tacomaaikidojo.com, becomes the only website santioned by or representative of the Tacoma Aiki Dojo

2003 - Michael Bissonette, attends the Japanese Self-Defense Forces summer training seminar in Kashima Japan

2003 - Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan instructs his 5th seminar at the Tacoma Aiki Dojo

2004 - Tacoma Aiki Dojo celebrates it's 25th year providing Aikido instruction in the South Puget Sound

2004 - Michael Bissonette, Faye Prendergast, Nina Rook, Tom Hubbel, Liane Sperlich and Lydia Meyers train at the Tokyo Hombu Dojo, Ibaraki Branch Dojo and the Japanese Self-Defense Forces summer training seminar in Kashima Japan

2005 - Lydia Myers & Scott Jarmon attend Doshu's seminar in Vancouver BC, Canada.

2005 - Michael Bissonette trains at Ibaraki Branch Dojo and the Japanese Self-Defense Forces summer training seminar in Kashima Japan and receives one of 3 Superior Awards given out during this year's seminar.

2005 - Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan instructs his 6th seminar at the Tacoma Aiki Dojo

2006 - To better represent our organization and history the Tacoma Aiki Dojo changes to the Tacoma Aikido Club

2006 - Michael Bissonette, Napoleon Power, Nina Rook, Tom Hubbel, Randy Duckworth and Rielley Duckworth attend Isoyama Shihan's Seminar in Los Angeles, CA, sponsered by Isoyama's American Aikido Academy.

2007 - Michael Bissonette, Napoleon Power, Nina Rook, Tom Hubbel, Lydia Meyers, Dave White, Randy Duckworth and Rielley Duckworth train at the Tokyo Hombu Dojo, Ibaraki Branch Dojo and the Japanese Self-Defense Forces summer training seminar in Kashima Japan

2007- Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan instructs his 7th seminar at the Tacoma Aiki Dojo
